What is P3O?

P3O® stands for "Project, Programme and Portfolio Office". It is a model for setting up and running project, programme and portfolio offices.

According to the best-practice P3O® model, a "project office" is a temporary support role linked to the life cycle of one specific project - i.e. its existence ends with the project.

This "office" can be seen as a unit for e.g. methodological and administrative support, coaching, know-how. Similarly, a programme office can be seen as a temporary support office for one programme. Permanent is the so-called portfolio office, which permanently supports portfolio management activities.

What is the difference between project, program and portfolio management?

Management of Portfolios will help you implement strategic goals and plans. By introducing MoP, you maximize ROI (return on investment), you adjust the priorities of projects and programs according to your needs, and all this with the allocation of only those resources (not only financial) that have been set aside for these activities.

In the role of Portfolio Manager, you will be primarily responsible for planning, controlling and managing strategic goals with the help of PRINCE2 projects and MSP Programs.

In other words, project and program management focuses on getting things right. Management of Portfolios is about doing the right things.

How can I take the final exam and get certified?

Final exam is included in the training price and takes place after the training. You can choose between two exam formats:

a) Paper-based at TAYLLORCOX Campus.

b) Online. You will receive an exam voucher along with instructions on how to book your online exam.

You can choose your preferred exam format on the first day of training. You can also purchase Take2 Option, with which you get a second attempt free of charge in case you fail your first exam attempt. Second attempt always takes place online.

You can download your PeopleCert certificate 2-3 business days after you have successfully passed the final exam.
