ISO / IEC 20000-1 is the first international standard for IT service management. It was established in 2005 by ISO / IEC JTC1 / SC7 and is based on the BS 15000 standard from the BSI Group. In 2011, it was updated.
The ISO / IEC 20000 standard, like its predecessor BS 15000, is based on best practice guidelines contained within the ITIL (Information Infrastructure Library) library, but also supports other IT services frameworks and approaches, including the Microsoft Operations Framework and COBIT ISACA.
