About ISO/IEC 20000-1
ISO / IEC 20000-1 is the first international standard for IT service management. It was established in 2005 by ISO / IEC JTC1 / SC7 and is based on the BS 15000 standard from the BSI Group. In 2011, it was updated.
The ISO / IEC 20000 standard, like its predecessor BS 15000, is based on best practice guidelines contained within the ITIL (Information Infrastructure Library) library, but also supports other IT services frameworks and approaches, including the Microsoft Operations Framework and COBIT ISACA.
ITIL® Libraries
ITIL summarizes proven concepts and procedures that allow better planning, use and improvement of information technology for IT service providers and their customers. The project proved successful in Great Britain, where it has been used since 1985, and later took over in other countries.
The methodology deals with the process management of the organization, so ITIL libraries cover the entire life cycle of IT services - from recognizing and refining business requirements, through the design of a specific form of services, to implementation and setup, which guarantees continuous improvement. The concept enables the observance of strategic goals across the organization and is intended mainly for middle and senior management.

Audit nezávisle posoudí, zda organizace splňuje požadavky ITSM. Auditor se soustředí především na shodu se standardy ITIL a ITSM, sleduje probíhající procesy (dokumentace, service desk..) a vyhodnotí, zda běží v souladu s ITIL.
