What is PMI

The Project Management Institute (PMI) is a leading global organization focused on standards, methodologies and certifications in project management. PMI provides best practices and frameworks to help professionals effectively manage projects in a variety of industries. PMI's most well-known standards include the PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge), which defines key project management processes and best practices.

Who will use the PMI methodology

PMI methodologies are suitable for project managers, team leaders, consultants and managers who want to implement effective project management in their organization. The PMI approach is widely used in the IT, construction, healthcare, financial sector and other industries where strategic planning, risk management and schedule adherence are important.

PMI Certification

PMI offers several prestigious certifications that validate expertise and skills in project management. TAYLLORCOX offers certification preparation courses:

  • PMP® (Project Management Professional) - The most recognized certification for experienced project managers.

  • CAPM® (Certified Associate in Project Management) - Designed for beginner and junior project managers.

PMP® (Project Management Professional) exam prerequisites

Before you apply, make sure you meet one of the following sets of PMP certification requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher (or global equivalent)

  • 36 months/3 years of project leadership and management experience within the last eight years

  • 35 hours of project management education/training or CAPM® Certification

- OR -

  • High school diploma or secondary school diploma

  • minimum of 60 months/5 years of project leadership and management experience within the last eight years

  • 35 hours of project management education/training or CAPM® Certification

By completing our training, you will meet the prerequisite of 35 hours of project management training. You must also study the official PMBOK Guide and recommended literature in Agile Project Management. The materials you will receive at our training and the instructor's explanation will guide you through the basic concepts and processes and refer you to the relevant chapters in the PMBOK Guide, which you will then study on your own. The time commitment for self-study after the course is on average estimated at 30-40 hours, however, the time you will actually spend on self-study after the course is highly individual and depends on the individual's existing knowledge. During the training you will also receive 200 practice questions to help you prepare for the official exam.

PMP® (Project Management Professional) exam

The test as such is not part of our training. The certification (or exam) is provided by the certification body Project Management Institute. The exam can thus be purchased from the supplier on their website.
