Unlike the higher level certification PMP, CAPM does not require project experience and proven practice

This basic certification course is ideal for beginning project managers or students. Project management has become one of the fastest growing fields. Although the market offers an abundance of work, it is a highly competitive environment.

What employers want is project management experience, subject matter knowledge and proof of expertise through internationally recognized certification. You will apply the American PMI standard primarily to international companies. The most common fields include IT, but others are not far behind:

To sit for the exam, you must meet the following CAPM requirements:

  • Have a secondary degree, such as a high school diploma, GED (general educational development), or global equivalent

  • Have at least 23 hours of project management education completed before the exam (you will fulfill this requirement by attending this training)

What is the difference between PMI and PRINCE2?

PRINCE2 is a project management methodology developed in Britain. It is a structured project management framework that emphasizes processes, roles and responsibilities in project planning, implementation and management.

Is the PMI certification exam part of the training?

No. The final exam is provided by the certification body Project Management Institute, and if you are interested in certification, you must contact PMI. By completing the relevant training at Taylorcox, you will fulfill one of the required prerequisites for the given exam.
