Requirements:
  • In-depth knowledge of networking and the TCP protocol.
  • Experience of Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Some familiarity or experience using the command line with Linux and Windows.
  • Ideally CompTIA Network+ and Security+ training/qualification.
  • Knowledge of business practices within your organisation, your organisation’s risk management processes and any IT user security policies.
  • For virtual/remote training a good internet connection/sufficient bandwidth is required, with full audio and video capability.

CREST Practitioner Security Analyst (CPSA)

The CREST Practitioner Security Analyst (CPSA) is an entry level exam that tests a candidate’s knowledge in assessing operating systems and common network services.

The examination covers a common set of core skills and knowledge. The candidate must demonstrate that they have the knowledge to perform basic infrastructure and web application vulnerability scans using commonly available tools and to interpret the results to locate security vulnerabilities.

CPSA candidates will be able to demonstrate that they are qualified for hands on Pen Test Roles (indicative of 2 years experience).

Duration: 2.5 hours

Passing score: 90/150 (60%)

Format: Multiple choice practical assessment

To achieve  CREST Registered Status, you must pass both the Crest Practitioner Security Analyst (CPSA) and CREST Registered Tester (CRT) exams.
