The ISTQB® Advanced Level Test Analyst (CTAL-TA) certification provides the skills needed to perform structured and thorough software testing across the software development life cycle. It goes into detail about the test analyst’s role and responsibilities in every step of a standard test process and expands on important test techniques.

The ISTQB scheme provides support for the definition of career paths for professional testers by offering a 3-tiered certification scheme starting with the Foundation Level and continuing with the Advanced Level and Expert Level.
The Advanced Level builds on the Foundation Level and establishes a platform from which further skills and knowledge may be acquired at other levels (e.g., Expert or Specialist).
